Crochet Ear Warmers

You will definitely not mind being outside with these hand crochet ear warmers.  Not only will your forehead not feel the cold but you will protect your ears and still look fabulous.

These are simple and fashionable and let’s not forget adorable! I crochet these with soft acrylic yarn, and some I have with a button to fasten or you can tie it behind your head.  They do have a stretch to it so it will fit most ladies heads.  You definitely will ward off the chill with my crocheted accessories such as these ear warmers.

I like making these in a variety of colors, thickness, width and style.  You can add buttons or trimming to them.  Also, you can utilize your leftover yarn from other projects to make these.  They are machine washable and line dry preferably.

Color Like This...

yolandascreation.storenvy.comColor like this needs to be paid attention to...just sayin' (crochet shawl in Tangerine by Red Heart Soft Yarn).

I know that sometimes you can't even think of wearing something like this on a hot day...well I'm not insinuating that...I simply want you to focus on the color...that's right! This color is saying show me off.  This yarn I purchased at Michaels when of course Red Heart Soft goes on sale.  I will sometimes wait for these sales and stock up and then it takes me a while to create what I want. But hey it's better late then never.

Anyway this shawl can be worn as a wrap or even wrapped around the head like a scarf/cowl (sorry don't have a picture of that).  The pattern is a chain stitch pattern --very simple.

What I love about Red Heart Soft Yarn is just that it's SOFT.  This one here took 4-5 skeins for me to complete. But it was well worth it because it's a versitle accessory.

Have fun making your own or get mine that's already made visit my store.

Lightweight Crochet Ponchos

yolandascreations.storenvy.com
crochet asymmetrical poncho
I started crocheting ponchos about 3 years ago.  I had mentioned before that this creation started off as a cowl idea and then walla it turned into a asymmetrical poncho.

I don't know about you but sometimes when I am crocheting I have one thing in mind and I end up with something else and sometimes it’s on purpose.

I have made some recently that are in a super lightweight yarn and super soft.  I found that making it in a bigger stitch pattern (all of these are made in a chain stitch pattern) would make  it airy and lightweight.  My first one I made for myself because I only had one skein of yarn so I wanted to see how long I could get it be in this pattern. I totally love it and it's still in an asymmetrical pattern but short.  I have received so many compliments on this piece.  So after seeing what I could do in this pattern and with one skein of yarn I decided to make one more in white.  The yarn I am talking about is Caron Simply Soft

I also decided to create another one using this fabulous yarn that is super soft by Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable.  This one definitely made my cut for super soft yarn.  However, this lightweight poncho I used 2 skeins of this yarn to make these.  These are made to fall right at the waist (unlike my first ones which go mid-thigh).

Anyway, I hope you like my creations here because all of them are created in the same style…asymmetrical.
These ponchos are so cute you can wear it with a cute t-shirt and jeans or a cute maxi dress and boots or even sandals…at least that’s what I have done in the past when it’s not too cold.

Ponchos #2

Crochet Poncho
(color: Country Blue
by Red Heart Yarn)
I am not very good at making crochet ‘clothing’ per say but there is something about crocheting a poncho that I enjoy making.  I guess it’s because I am not intimidated by the actual fact that in a way it is clothing.

Crochet Poncho
(color: Honey
by Red Heart Yarn)
I have only made a few but overall I am very comfortable making them.  All of my ponchos are (for now) made in the same stitch.  I do 5 single crochets and connect on the 4th stitch and I continue doing this until I have the desired length I want.  Basically my stitch patter ends up looking like a diamond pattern.
I also found that (for me) the finish product which is an asymmetrical style is what I liked making.  It has sass to it J.  I make them all to measure approximately 34wX32L.  They are all hand crochet with 100% acrylic yarn.

Wear something like this when it’s not too cold where you can show off the style with whatever you decide to put underneath it (cute top and jeans or a maxi dress with sandals).
