Unique and different tablet covers

Awhile back I had made these tablet (e-reader) covers for my mini ipad .  I since then have made so many others.

www.yolandascreations.storenvy.comI really enjoy making these ๐Ÿ˜‹.  I took a different approach and started to sew buttons or flowers on the front.   I also started to make them long and then sew the sides which would allow me to sew the flowers or buttons or even fabric inside.

I still use 100% cotton yarn for the sturdiness but you can use any yarn you prefer.  And don't forget stock up on your favorite yarn like I do when they have them on sale.  My local craft stores are AC Moore or Michaels.

These covers/caddies are a great way to protect your e-reader device while stashed away in your purse or bag.

Hello Sunshine and more...

I love how the color yellow looks ...it comes in a variety of shades and tones.  I personally like this yellow (lemon by Red Heart Yarn) that I got at my local Michaels store awhile back.

It's soft and just the right shade of yellow.  Mind you I know a lot of people have said the acrylic yarn is a bit 'cheap'...let me tell you something...no it's not! It all depends on what you are making and what it will be used for.

Think about it if your making a pair of slippers ok then use the roughest acrylic if that fancy's you...but for something like this shawl/wrap that I made I did use Red Heart Super Saver and it was super soft. It could also be that the chain stitch pattern I used helped it stay soft and  airy.

Anyway, I also love to use the Sunshine Yellow cotton yarn by Lily Sugar'n Cream Solid Yarn. It's so bright and cheerful.  Again, trying to use different texture yarns and the same yellow family is awesome.

If making something in a pretty yellow doesn't make you smile...well I don't know what to tell you ๐Ÿ˜‰ but I will say this much...smile as you make your creations I feel it gives your creation a positive energy of nothing but smiles.

Crochet desk accessories...

crochet pen cup holder
crochet desk accessories
I decided for once to have personal desk accessories that say what I enjoy making.
The difficult part was what color should I use...I knew I wanted to crochet my accessories in cotton yarn without a doubt.  Question was what color...I know when you see these you might say OMG! why this color.  It's ok - there was a reason why I chose this color.  For one it's my prototype so from here I can gauge my future ones that I will make and two I wanted the items that go inside of each of these to stand out.

All of these are made in a single or double crochet stitch pattern and I used cotton yarn and plastic buttons.  I did use a regular needle and thread to sew the flowers one.  I did use containers that I already had on hand (up cycle).

These I think came out pretty cute and exactly what I wanted and exactly what I wanted it to say about me...cute, practical and FUN!

Crochet Mini IPad Cover

yolandascreations.storenvy.comI had mentioned before that I had started making these e-reader covers for a dear friend of mine in a bright bold color.  I actually had made it for her Kindle.  Then I realized you know I can make these for just about anything anyone wants to put in them like a mini I-Pad or a Kindle.

I do tend to keep my stitch pattern that  simple and I prefer to make them all made from 100% cotton yarn (Sugar and Cream yarn) for easy care and durability (because of the thickness of the yarn).  Now again as I have mentioned before you can make them with 100% acrylic yarn as well. The covers can be washed and I do recommend dry flat.

yolandascreations.storenvy.comThese covers/caddies are a great way to protect your devices while stashed away in your purse or bag.

The cover measures approximately 7-1/2" by 6" closed and they do have a stretch to fit most Kindles, Nooks and mini Ipads or similar sized readers.

I think when making these make them how you want them not how someone else tells you.  However, if you have a dear friend like I have that did tell me what she wanted (color) then you do it for them.  I think when you see the variety that is out there you can go with those great ideas and come up with your style.

Have fun making these! Happy crocheting!!!

Coffee Cup Cleeves...

Now I know we have heard of people trying to go green...right?  Well I can tell you that one way of making sure you do is show off your cup with a reusable and washable crochet sleeve for your coffee cup or any to-go cup.
yolandascreations.storenvy.com
I personally love to crochet these in one of my favorite cotton yarns: Lily Sugar'n Cream. I feel they hold their shape better and they are definitely washable and durable .

yolandascreations.storenvy.comI feel people need and should want to get these NOW.  Let's try to jazz up our cups with friendly cup sleeves NO more flimsy paper sleeves that you just end up throwing away anyway.

I actually have been complimented on one of mine because it has a big flower on the front of it...it screams ME!  Check out the ones I have made and pick one that screams YOU! I make them to fit a standard 16oz. Cup.

Happy crocheting!!!
