Crochet Ear Warmers



Here are some of my latest creations on ear warmers.   I have decided instead of sewing the flower on I would have it where you can remove the  flower and use it on anything else.  I personally use the flower when I want to – not always but that’s just me.



What I like about making these is that you will keep your forehead and ears warm and not have to worry about messing up your hair.

I crochet these with soft acrylic yarn in a double stitch crochet pattern.  I continue to do this until I have reach approximately 16-18 inches in length and then I sew the ends together with the yarn needle.  I also use a little dab of Fray Check at the tiny ends where I cut off the yarn. 

 

I like making these in a variety of colors, thickness, width and style.  You can add buttons or trimming to them.  Also, you can utilize your leftover yarn from other projects to make these.

Ponchos #2

I am not very good at making crochet ‘clothing’ per say but there is something about crocheting a poncho that I enjoy making.  I guess it’s because I am not intimidated by the actual fact that in a way it is clothing.

I have only made a few but overall I am very comfortable making them.  All of my ponchos are (for now) made in the same stitch.  I do 5 single crochets and connect on the 4^th stitch and I continue doing this until I have the desired length I want.  Basically my stitch patter ends up looking like a diamond pattern.

I also found that (for me) the finish product which is an asymmetrical style is what I liked making.  It has sass to it J.  I make them all to measure approximately 34wX32L.  They are all hand crochet with 100% acrylic yarn. 

Wear something like this when it’s not too cold where you can show off the style with whatever you decide to put underneath it (cute top and jeans or a maxi dress with sandals).

So the last time I mentioned to you that I was finishing a crochet cuff...I finally got it done.  Believe it or not all I needed to finish on the blue one was the sewn on snaps (which I finally got from Michaels Arts & Craft store) and the fabric I already had just had to sew it on. 

This idea came to me because I love jewelry and sometimes I want something that is a bit bohemian chic if you know what I mean.  So have seem cuff's in leather and lace but didn't really see too many that were crochet.  So as I have mentioned before I become curious and interested in wanting to see how I can do something like this.  You know the saying necessity is the mother of invention.   I actually have several of these already done I just need to decide if I am going to add beads or buttons or nothing to them. 

I also wanted to see how I can use leftover beads (orphan beads as they are called) and/or leftover fabric that can have some life still left in it.  And it just seem a great idea to do these.

Each were crochet with my single crochet technique and all the beads were hand sewn on. I hope you like it.
