Bookmark Charms

ribbon bookmark
bugle beads
bookmark
I remember one time traveling and seeing someone reading a book and they had the cutest bookmark inside their book.  It had beads! I was looking at it and trying not to make it so obvious that I was checking out the bookmark.  Believe it or not I was so intrigued by this item because it had beads and the beads I noticed looked like beads I already had.

You know for me when I see something that I think is possible to make I will try and try til I make it. So when I got back home from my travels I when at it to look to see online if this was something that this one person had made or do they really exist.

Once I discovered that there were a variety of different bookmark charms out there I decided to make some of mine with all beads and some with ribbons.  Here you will see a little bit of everything.  I totally love making these.  They are the perfect gift for those readers and/or teachers or just as a small unique gift for someone (especially if you are not sure what to give that person you know!?).

These can be made to accommodate any book size.  So if you need to make it shorter in length you can or make it standard length which is what I have done for all of mine.

Materials I used:
Beads – different shapes and sizes
Jewelry wire (thin) – Beadalon Nylon coated stainless steel .015”
Charms
Ribbon (1/4”)
Jewelry pliers – nippers, chain or round nose, crimper
Crimp tubes & cover
Jewelry glue (like Beadalon Bead Fix it)

All of my materials I either got on sale at Michaels or AC Moore or I already had in stock (try to use what you have in stock but by all means if you want a focal statement bead buy it if you don’t have it).  Make these however you want and like.  I made these for friends and family members and they loved them.
