Crochet Cotton Sage Ombre Baby Booties

Here I am showing you a crochet cotton baby booties that I created recently.  Believe it or not this is not even an entire skein of cotton yarn.  I had enough to make these and possibly one more pair.  Great way again to use up your left over yarn from a previous project.

The yarn I used is by Lily Sugar'n Cream Country Sage Ombre (the link will give you an idea what the yarn looks like).  I can tell you if you are like me sometime the cotton yarn can be a tad bit expensive.  I take advantage of getting several colors and skeins when they are on sale or I use a coupon.  I totally love this yarn.  I love using these for several creations.  I like getting mine from AC Moore and racking up on my points! to get more in the future - what can I tell you...I love being given credit for purchasing items in my local store.   But I also will get them at Michaels or Joann's online. 

Now for this here I did crochet the bottom part first and then I crochet the band across the bootie and then sewed it on with the same yarn and then sewed the button afterwards.

The is all done with a 1 double crochet stitch throughout the entire bootie.  All of the ones I have made (and once I get all the pictures done you will see) measure 3 inches long.  They are also machine washable.

Crochet Baby Booties...

Crochet baby booties are just cute and fun to make.  I started making these when my mom sent me a pair that I asked her to make for me for a friend. 

As always I would find it difficult to make because of how small they were.  But then I gave it a shot and here I have some to show you that I made awhile back.  

I've had some friends that crochet as well say to me to find my niche in crocheting baby items - in other words if I make these and I am better at making newborn/baby booties do those til I am comfortable venturing out to making other sizes.  So guess what?! That's what I do...I am getting better at making baby ones so I won't venture yet to toddler size or bigger (one day I will...and you'll be the first to know about it.

Bottom line to me is that whatever you like and are comfortable making - MAKE IT! Learn from your mistakes on crocheting and keep making and creating things til you get it right.

Crochet Pink Baby Booties

I wanted to share with you my latest creation...I haven't done baby booties in awhile so I decided to work on some recently.  These here are so small (2inches long).  I think they came out so adorable.  They tie up on top (ankle area).  The yarn I used was a soft acrylic baby yarn by Vanna's Choice color: pink poodle.  The flowers I had in a basket to use for projects and I thought it was perfect for these little cute booties. 

I have more and will share once I crop the pictures and get them looking right.  I hope you like these ...I really enjoyed making them.

Oh and they are machine washable too!!!

Crochet baby booties

So I know I have mentioned before that I am not that good at making baby items – my mother is though.  So one day I decided you know I needed to figure out something when it came down to baby footwear.


And I did!  I actually was good at making Mary Jane Booties/Shoes.  My mother would make for me the newborn booties and from then on I was getting more comfortable in making the ‘shoe’ ones but not the newborn ones (yet).  I don’t know there is just something about tiny things and using the thinnest crochet hook to make these…OMG I don’t know why but I still cant' get it.  So I would then commission my mom to make the tiny ones and I would continue to make the regular MJ booties.  So just a little info on all of these shown (and the ones to come) they are all made with 100% acrylic yarn (regular or baby yarn) of which I purchased at AC Moore.  The ribbon and buttons I also purchased from the same store.

So I hope you like these…remember (if I haven’t said this before)…I don’t really write down a lot of what and how I crochet I would say I am like a freestyle crocheter if there is such a thing.  I crochet designs as I go.  So please don’t be upset with me if I don’t at times write down how I made something.  J
